5-Facets by Gemstone 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley
$69.99 bottle
Decanter Magazine 95 Rating
Facets is Gemstone’s non-estate wine, crafted from carefully selected vineyards in Yountville and Oak Knoll by winemaker Julien Fayard, who took the helm in 2021. The 2022 Facets is a crowd-pleaser with upfront appeal, offering heady aromas of violets, rose petals, sweet candied red berry fruit, and dusty minerals. The velvety, fine-grained tannins are seamlessly integrated on the palate, giving the wine a polished texture. Full-bodied and rich, it features expressive, balanced cedarwood sweetness and finishes with notes of crushed cacao nibs. Grapes are gently pressed directly into barrels for fermentation and aged up to 18 months in 40% new French oak.
6-Jax Vineyards 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley
$49.99 bottle
Decanter Magazine 93 Rating
Sourced from the Jax Estate, a 2.5-hectare site with silty loam soils at the base of Mt. St. Helena in Calistoga, this wine was aged for 22 months in 66% new French oak. A stylish, easy-going red, it showcases lush dark berry fruit and sandalwood character. On the palate, the wine offers a satiny texture with plump, supple tannins, finishing with notes of crushed walnuts and a lingering richness. A nicely composed, high-value red, this bottling reflects Jax's commitment to quality and accessibility. In 2012, Dan Parrott became a proprietor of the Jax brand and began working alongside winemaker Kirk Venge, further refining the estate’s signature style.
