Ruinart Blanc de Blancs Brut Champagne France
The Tasting Panel 97 Rating
Cool initial suggestions of lime, chalk, and buttered toast make way for decidedly sunny aromas of yellow apple, Anjou pear, peach and pluot sprinkled with white flowers. Making a luxurious texture in perfect balance with moderately tangy acidity, the fruit takes on a bit of a honeyed tropical cast in the mouth, with pineapple and mango ushering in a finishing dash of earthy lemon pepper on the long, fresh finish. The effect is effortlessly stylish.

Giacomo Borgogno 2021 Timorasso Derthona Colli Tortonesi Piedmont Italy
Wine Enthusiast 94 Rating
Spiced pear mixed with candied lemon rind, wildflowers and fresh honey all swirl in concert in the glass. Each sniff brings out a new element from the wine: fruit, mineral and flower. The palate is full in body with a texture that will make you keep coming back and rue the moment the glass is finished, capped with apricot and a salty minerality.

Château Fortia 2015 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée du Baron Southern Rhone Valley France
Wine Spectator 92 Rating

This has a solid, juicy core of bright cassis, cherry preserves and bergamot, backed by juicy and finely beaded acidity. Light floral incense and dried star anise notes flitter through the background. A light mineral edge guides the finish. Drink now through 2030.

Saint Cosme 2017 Saint-Joseph Northern Rhone Valley France
Wine Enthusiast 93 Rating
Layers of dried sage, bramble and green peppercorns lend a Sauvage appeal to plump, juicy black cherry and plum in this wine. It’s a full bodied but graceful Syrah fringed by fine tannins. The finish is delightfully floral, etched by violet and rose-petal perfume. Lovely already, the wine should drink well through 2027.

Eisele 2015 Altagracia Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley California
James Suckling 95 Rating
This is a dense and juicy red with characters of blackberries, chocolate and pine needles. Sweet tobacco, too. Full body and round, polished tannins. A more dialed-in, terroir character than in past vintages. 88% cabernet sauvignon, 7% cabernet franc and 5% petit verdot.

Purlieu 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Georges III Vineyard Napa Valley California
Wine Advocate 98 Rating
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon George III Vineyard exudes an achingly graceful, complex perfume of oolong tea, rose hips, lilacs, fallen leaves and tilled loam with a core of blackcurrant cordial, kirsch, redcurrant jelly and warm plums with wafts of aniseed and incense. Full-bodied, with a solid backbone of super ripe, velvety tannins and oodles of freshness backing up the rich, highly focused and oh-so-stunning red and black fruit layers, it finishes long, lifted and perfumed.
